Revid AI Review (2026): Pricing, Credits and Who It Fits

Updated 15 min read

The short answer

Revid AI (revid.ai, called Typeframes until April 2024) is a broad short-form video generator. You start from a prompt, a script, a link, a song or a viral video from its library; it writes, illustrates, voices and captions the video, publishes it to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and X, and Auto-Mode workers can make one video a day for a faceless channel. Checked on 5 November 2026: Growth is $39 a month for 2,000 credits, Elite $89 for 5,000, Ultra $199 for 12,000, and plan credits do not roll over. That buys 25 to 50 thirty-second videos with animated images, or about three 60-second videos built from Pro-tier AI video clips. Trustpilot shows 4.0 from 305 reviews, 26% of them one-star. Pick Revid for a wide toolbox on a credit budget. For a story channel that retells real stories at a fixed price per video, shortpix starts at $19 a month for 13 videos.

What Revid AI is, and what it is not

Revid AI is the video app at revid.ai. Its FAQ, read on 5 November 2026, describes it as "an AI video platform that turns an idea, a link or a proven viral format into finished short-form videos and publishes them to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and X, for founders and small business owners." Its guide adds that it is an independent company based in Paris, founded in 2023 as Typeframes and renamed Revid in April 2024. Faceless-channel operators are on its list of users, which is why it comes up when people shop for a tool to run a channel on Shorts, TikTok and Reels.

The name causes confusion in search. revid.me is a different website, a free image-to-video and text-to-video generator, and a property management business with the same name also shows up for "revid". Revid's guide says it "isn't affiliated with other apps that use the name Revid". This review covers revid.ai only. To see it next to three other tools on one grid, read our best faceless AI video generator comparison.

Revid AI pricing, checked on 5 November 2026

The Revid pricing page shows three cards. Hobby is $39 a month, "for occasional, hands-on creation", with no credit count. Growth is also $39 a month, with $99 crossed out and "Discount locked in forever", for 2,000 AI credits. Ultra is $199 for 12,000 credits. The pricing questions on the same page, the guide and the plans fact sheet (updated October 2026) describe the paid line-up as Growth, Elite and Ultra, Elite being an upgrade for existing subscribers:

PlanMonthlyBilled yearlyCredits per monthAuto-Mode workersWatched channels
Growth$39$32/month2,00035
Elite (upgrade for subscribers)$89$74/month5,000520
Ultra$199$166/month12,0001050
Hobby (pricing card only)$39Not statedNot statedNot statedNot stated

Revid pricing page, guide and plans fact sheet, checked on 5 November 2026.

  • Every paid plan includes the 100+ tools, voiceovers in 70+ languages, publishing with post stats, Auto-Mode and the Revid API. Elite adds voice cloning.
  • Bigger volumes sit on the Ultra slider: 30,000 credits for $459 a month, up to 200,000 for $2,799.
  • Plan credits refill to the plan amount at each renewal; they do not stack month to month.
  • Credit Boost packs never expire and are spent after the monthly balance: 1,000 credits for $49, 4,000 for $99, 10,000 for $199, 100,000 for $1,900.
  • You cancel from your account settings; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period.

Two details deserve a calculator. Growth credits cost about 2 cents each ($39 for 2,000), the smallest boost pack 4.9 cents ($49 for 1,000), roughly 2.5 times more. If you run out every month, Growth plus one pack costs $88 for 3,000 credits, while Elite costs $89 for 5,000. On the free start, you can sign up without a card and new accounts get free credits, but none of the pages we read gives the number. On branding, the guide only says: "If your project depends on a file with no branding, check what your account includes on the pricing page before you post."

What one Revid video costs in credits

Revid prices the work, not the video. Every voice line, image, clip and export draws on your credits. Here is the credit table from Revid's guide, read on 5 November 2026:

What you generateCredits
Voice-over10 per started 500 characters
AI image, Low / Pro / Ultra1 / 4 / 16 per image
AI video, Low / Pro / Ultra tier15 / 50 / 100 per 5 seconds

AI video, Seedance 2.5 1080p / 4K250 / 500 per 5 seconds
Talking avatar, Low / Pro / Ultra80 / 100 / 200 per 500 characters
AI music20 per generation
Auto-reframe or 4K export10 each

Revid guide, credit costs, checked on 5 November 2026. Publishing uses no credits.

Revid's own rule of thumb is 40 to 80 credits for a 30-second video with Pro moving images and a voice-over. Many story channels post closer to a minute (shortpix videos run 60 to 72 seconds), so here is the same arithmetic for 60 seconds on Growth, at $39 for 2,000 credits:

RecipeCredits per videoVideos a month on GrowthCost per video
30 seconds, Pro moving images and voice-over (Revid's estimate)40 to 8025 to 50$0.78 to $1.56
60 seconds, the same recipe80 to 16012 to 25$1.56 to $3.12
60 seconds, every scene a Low-tier AI video clipAbout 2109About $4.10
60 seconds, every scene a Pro-tier AI video clipAbout 6303About $12.30
60 seconds, every scene in Veo 3 or Hailuo H3About 1,2301About $24

Our arithmetic on Revid's credit table, checked on 5 November 2026, not a Revid figure. 60 seconds is twelve 5-second blocks; a 180-word narration is about 1,100 characters, so 30 credits of voice-over. Cost per video = credits x $39 / 2,000.

The lesson: on Revid, the price of a video depends on how much real motion you ask for. Animated AI images keep a minute-long video near the headline count; Pro or premium AI video clips on every scene give you four to fifteen times fewer videos. Revid's guide says it too: "animated AI images keep a video cheap, and premium AI video models are where credits go fast." Retries count as well: a scene regenerated three times is paid three times.

shortpix works the other way round: the plan counts videos, not credits. Starter is $19 a month for 13 videos (3 a week), $1.46 each; Pro is $39 for 30 (1 a day), $1.30 each; Scale is $89 for 60 (2 a day), $1.48 each. Each video is a 60 to 72 second animated retelling, whatever the number of scenes. Credit packs ($10 for 400 up to $100 for 4,000) buy animated hooks, not extra videos, and never expire. The full table is in the pricing section.

Revid AI features, read against a faceless channel's needs

Revid lists more than 100 tools. For a faceless channel on YouTube Shorts, TikTok or Instagram Reels, four carry the weight:

  • Create from anything: a prompt, script, link, song, audio file or PDF becomes a video with script, visuals, voice-over, captions and music.
  • Viral library and remix: search about 2.77 million short-form videos by topic, platform, engagement and length, then build your own from one.
  • Timeline editor: change text and timing, replace or regenerate one scene, trim or split clips, switch caption presets.
  • API, MCP server and command-line tool on every paid plan, so a script or an AI agent can render and publish.

The remix feature is the heart of the product. These are the options Revid's guide lists when you open a video from the library:

Remix optionWhat you get
Same energy, new scriptAn original video with the same recipe
Make it about your topicThe hook style, pacing and energy applied to your niche
Post the Part 2A sequel that answers the question the original leaves open
Same footage, new lookAn AI restyle of the footage
React on cameraAn AI avatar reacting to the video
Your face in itA face swap
Reuse the scriptNew visuals for the same words

Revid guide, "How to start from a viral video", checked on 5 November 2026.

Revid "keeps the structure, timing and tone and writes new words, visuals and an original music direction", and only "Reuse the script" keeps the spoken words. That suits format channels, where the hook pattern is what you borrow. Retelling one real story with its facts intact is a different job: none of the Revid pages we read says the facts of a source story are kept, or that a video can close on the real photograph of the people in it. For a broad tool that is not a flaw; it means a story channel checks every script by hand.

How to make a video in Revid, step by step

  1. 1

    Open Create

Click "Create" at the top of the sidebar (shortcut C) and pick a starting point: prompt, script, link, song or a remix.

  2. 2

    Give it the source

Paste your prompt, script or URL. In a script, a line break forces a new scene and text in square brackets guides the visuals without being spoken.

  3. 3

    Choose the visuals

Pick AI video, animated AI images, motion graphics, stock or your own media, and the tier (Low, Pro or Ultra). Set 9:16 before generating.

  4. 4

    Pick voice, captions and music

Choose a voice and language, a caption preset, and a track or an AI-generated one (20 credits).

  5. 5

    Read the estimate, then generate

An "Estimated cost" sits next to "Generate video". Failed builds are refunded automatically.

  6. 6

Fix weak scenes, then export or publish

Use "Replace" or "Regenerate" on one scene rather than the whole video. Export in 1080p, or connect your accounts once under Settings, "Integrations", and click "Publish" or "Add to queue".

Steps and button names come from Revid's guide, read on 5 November 2026. Every video is a series of creative choices. The shortpix flow is one link and one niche, shown in our how it works section.

Auto-Mode and publishing: how hands-off Revid gets

Auto-Mode is Revid's take on YouTube automation: a worker that makes one video a day without you. You pick a job ("Run a Daily AI Series", "Search and Remix a Video", "Article to Video" and four others), give it a source, choose the format and read the "Est. monthly credits" before creating it. Feed sources are accounts, channels, subreddits or RSS feeds; links to a single post are refused.

  • Each worker runs once a day at a fixed hour between 1 AM and 5 AM in your account's time zone.
  • A feed worker picks one post newer than 3 days that the last 3 runs did not use; if nothing new turned up, the run is skipped.
  • A run costs what the same video costs when made by hand.
  • Delivery is "Review First" (the video waits for your check) or "Auto Queue" (straight to your posting queue).

Publishing goes to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram (Business or creator account), X, or a webhook. You post now or add to a queue, then read views, likes and comments under "Results". Publishing uses no credits. Revid does not publish to Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads or Pinterest. All of this is from Revid's guide and publishing fact sheet, checked on 5 November 2026.

In practice, the worker creates at night and the queue decides when the video goes out. With Auto Queue you skip the review; with Review First you are back in the loop every day. On shortpix, each video goes out on its own at the slot you set, to the minute, in your account's time zone; on YouTube it is uploaded about an hour before as private, then published at the set time. Our guide on how to schedule YouTube Shorts covers the platform rules behind auto-posting on all three apps.

Revid AI reviews: what 305 Trustpilot ratings show

On 5 November 2026, Revid's Trustpilot page shows 305 reviews and a TrustScore of 4.0, the newest dated 1 November 2026. The average hides a split: reviewers either love it or give it one star, and few sit in the middle.

RatingShare of the 305 reviews
5 stars53%
4 stars16%
3 stars2%
2 stars3%
1 star26%

Trustpilot, revid.ai, checked on 5 November 2026.

We read the 20 most recent one-star reviews, dated March to October 2026. Eight of them are about billing, most often charges the reviewer says continued after cancelling. Several describe support that never answered or a refund that was refused, and some say credits ran out faster than expected, one saying the platform "consumes far more credits than it should". The five-star reviews on the first page praise ease of use, especially for beginners. These are individual accounts, not verified facts, but the pattern is consistent enough to plan around. Revid's side: you cancel from the account settings and failed builds are refunded automatically. If you subscribe, three habits protect you:

  • Price your recipe first: make one test video with the exact visuals you will use every day, note the credits, multiply by your posting rhythm.
  • Keep the proof of cancellation: a screenshot of the confirmation, then a look at your next card statement.
  • Turn on auto top-up only with a budget: a worker that never fails is also a worker that keeps spending.

Where Revid AI falls short for a faceless story channel

  • The cost per video is a range, not a number: real motion in every scene costs several times the headline rate.
  • Remixes write new words around a proven structure; for retelling real stories, you check the facts of every script yourself.
  • No Facebook, Threads or Pinterest publishing; those uploads stay manual.

Two YouTube rules apply to Revid and to every other tool, ours included. The monetization policies say content must "Not be mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative" and give as an example "AI-generated content made with generic or unoriginal templates giving the impression of mass production without adding the creator's original, authentic insights or perspective" (YouTube Help, checked on 5 November 2026). A daily worker fed by a generic source is the case to avoid; every video needs a real angle, as Revid's own guide also warns.

The second is disclosure. YouTube requires creators "to disclose AI-generated or altered content that seems realistic" through the "AI use" setting in YouTube Studio, while "Creators don't need to disclose non-realistic content that's made with AI" (YouTube Help, checked on 5 November 2026). Photorealistic clips from a premium model fall on the first side; illustrated, animated story scenes usually on the second. Account questions on our side are answered in the help center.

Revid AI alternatives, and the verdict

If Revid's breadth is more than you need, the choice depends on your channel. Three alternatives for faceless story channels, read on each tool's own page on 5 November 2026:

shortpix does one job. You paste the link of a YouTube Short that tells a real story (only YouTube links work as a source), pick the niche (Heartwarming, Gym stories, Kids stories or Horror stories), and in about five minutes you get a vertical 1080x1920 video of 60 to 72 seconds: 8 to 10 scenes, narration, word-by-word captions, music, and the real photograph of the story as the end card. The retelling keeps the facts of the source story. There is no watermark, the MP4 is yours, and you cancel in two clicks. See how to turn a YouTube Short into an animated story video, or the features section for what each plan includes.

The verdict. Choose Revid AI if you want many formats from one subscription, like remixing viral videos, are comfortable budgeting in credits, or want an API; price your daily recipe first. Choose a narrow tool if your channel is one emotional niche built on real stories and you want a fixed number of finished videos a month, each posted at its own time. If that is your channel, start your story channel and compare the first video with anything you make elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Is Revid AI free?

Revid is free to start, not free to run. You can sign up without a card, new accounts get free credits to try video generation, and a free account can search the viral library. Regular creation uses a paid plan's monthly credits, from $39 a month for 2,000 (checked on 5 November 2026). Revid's pages do not say how many free credits a new account gets.

How much does Revid AI cost per month?

Checked on 5 November 2026: Growth is $39 a month or $32 billed yearly, with 2,000 credits; Elite, offered to existing subscribers, is $89 or $74 yearly with 5,000; Ultra is $199 or $166 yearly with 12,000. Volumes go up to 200,000 credits for $2,799 a month, and boost packs start at $49 for 1,000 credits.

Is Revid AI legit and safe?

Revid is a real, paid product from an independent company in Paris, in business since 2023, with public pricing and a published API. On Trustpilot it scores 4.0 from 305 reviews (checked on 5 November 2026); 26% are one-star, many of them about billing after cancellation and slow support. Keep proof of any cancellation and watch your statement.

Is Revid AI the same as Typeframes or revid.me?

Revid AI is the same company as Typeframes: it started in Paris in 2023 under that name and has been called Revid since April 2024. It is not revid.me, a separate free AI video generator, nor the property management business that shares the name.

Do unused Revid credits roll over?

Plan credits do not: they refill to the plan amount at each renewal. Credit Boost packs are a separate balance that does not expire and is spent after your monthly credits. On shortpix, the plan counts videos, and the credit packs used for animated hooks never expire.

What is the best Revid AI alternative for a faceless story channel?

For a channel that retells real stories in one niche and wants the real photo at the end, shortpix is built for that job, from $19 a month for 13 videos of 60 to 72 seconds, with auto-posting to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. For several formats from one subscription, StoryShort and Revid are broader.
